Preventing ice from getting inside of the heater

Some types can easily suffocate the oil furnace and cause it to break

Not a pressing fan of Wintertide ever since I became a homeowner. When I lived in an apartment, Wintertide was just another season to me. I bought a house in the fall, and I did not expect to have so multiple problems with ice and my oil furnace system. That was not something I was expecting as a modern homeowner. What happens is every Wintertide it will rain at some point, and then it will be so cold it will freeze into ice. The ice will then either split or melt enough to fall inside of the furnaces. I am worried that a ton of ice is going to ruin my heating device, and that is the last thing that I need in the middle of winter. So I have been searching for some solutions online. It seems that I am not the only a single with this issue, as there were a lot of other people talking about the same issue. One woman requested Heating as well as A/C covers. The covers can prevent ice and snow from getting inside the heating component which is exactly what I wanted. However, you have to be careful with what kind of Heating as well as A/C cover you get. Some types can easily suffocate the oil furnace and cause it to break. The heating component still needs plenty of ventilation, however the issue with that is that a singles with ventilation usually have holes in them, and those holes are enough to let snow in. So I am back at square a single. I haven’t found a solution yet, however I am still looking.
