Along with my cousins, my Grandma used to always warn me that bad things would always come in threes.
I have to admit that I never really believed his claims, nor did I ever really believe the kind of things they were.
But as I get older, I realize that my Grandma might have had a point all those years ago. When I was a child, she used to tell us all kinds of absurd tales. When it came to her, my colleague and I didn’t know what to speculate about or what not to speculate about. Anyway, he used to tell us that bad things happened in threes, and my friend and I all agreed that she was right. She was telling me a lot of strange things that had occurred to him, and sure enough, there were three terrible events that followed one another. He caught his living room on fire after she wrecked his car one day and before he could even get it fixed! I was so shocked when that occurred, and I was also relieved that he wasn’t hurt. Anyway, my grandmother warned us that another terrible event would inevitably occur after that day. I was mistaken in thinking it wouldn’t, though! My grandmother discovered that his heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system had been completely destroyed the very next day while my friend and I were still cleaning up from the fire in the living room. The fan in the furnace broke down or something because the ventilation system had somehow sucked in a ton of smoke in addition to doing both of those things. I’m not sure why everything went wrong, but after the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system failed on top of everything else, I felt awful for him.
