Queen and I met when we had gone for this brunch event in the city. We were both new to the area, and were seeking places to hang out and meet friends. While I do like clubs and bars, I prefer not going there when I’m new to an area to try and meet friends. Instead, I chose the brunch since it was ladies only and in a lovely upscale hotel. This is where I ran into Queen, the most bubbly and energetic person I have ever met. We became fast friends and even started hanging out after brunch. Queen works for a local digital marketing firm, and moved to the area to be the person in charge. I am a HR manager for a local law firm, and we got to bond so much about our lives. The Queen had moved to the area a year before me, and she purchased a house. The house was in a lovely location, and I loved visiting her when we were both free for the day. Last summer, we planned a night indoors in our pajamas watching this series that was new to Netflix. Unfortunately, our plans were held up by a faulty cooling system. The Queen had asked me to pass by the store to get a few things since she was working from home. While at the store, she called to say her cooling system had failed, and the HVAC expert was on his way. The only issue was he hadn’t given her a set time for when he’d arrive at the house. I got there and we waited for an hour for the HVAC expert to arrive. He had other appointments to finish, then he came by to fix the cooling system and save our movie night.
