We looked forward to winter each year as kis.My brothers and I would start planning on the different things we would build.
For some reason all that mattered was the fact that we would skat in the snow and also play for a few minutes whenever our parents allowed.
My mom was particularly not a fan of the ol weather. She said it was her worst season since she had to deal with a lot of emergencies as a nurse. Besides that she was always worried that one of her boys would fall ill, which was common when we were toddlers. Back then our area wasn’t so cold so she would allow us to play outdoors. Unfortunately, over the years the climate seems to have changed immensely. The weather gets too cold nowadays and we experience blizzards more frequently. Temperatures drop much more than they were and it feels like being outdoors Now that I am a parent my kids joke that I have become too old to have fun. They sometimes pull me into the snow to play a few games with them but I can only stand not more than 15 minutes in the cold. I prefer the indoors where it is warm and convenient. I recently upgraded our furnace and installed a modern heating equipment after the HVAC tech recommended it. The old one that came with my parents house was failing so my spouse and I decided to buy a new one after paying high bills for three months straight. While winter isn’t my favorite season yet, I can tolerate it some more thanks to the best furnace I’ve ever used.
