Because it’s so cold outside, they want to feel the heat from my furnace as it rises to the attic space
Living in the rural countryside can have its ups and downs over the years. On the one hand I love being away from all the noise that you experience living in the city. It can be really daunting in a city apartment listening to the noise on the street below. There’s a combination of cars going by, sirens on police cruisers and ambulances, and people talking loudly or shouting. Occasionally I’ll hear dogs barking as well. I was eager to get out of this kind of environment as quickly as I could. I finished college and I started looking for jobs and cities far away from this metropolitan nightmare. Now I’m living in a duplex in a neighborhood that’s right on the edge of a nature preserve. Now instead of hearing constant noise outside from cars and people, I hear the sound of nature. You can hear birds chirping and sick and crickets singing. I also love to hear the frogs when it starts to rain. But the only thing I don’t like about living in this area are all the squirrels I get into my attic in the winter. Because it’s so cold outside, they want to feel the heat from my furnace as it rises to the attic space. The squirrels are just trying to stay warm from the cold temperatures so they go wherever they can find indoor heat from a furnace or a heating system. no I don’t have heat access in the attic, but all the heat from the house makes the attic a lot warmer than the outside air.
