Just the other day I had a really awkward situation with my HVAC technician.
I had to call him because my air conditioning was not kicking on at all.
I waited about two days and I tried between those two days to turn on my air conditioning system. After those two days there was still nothing that was working. So I figured that I should just call a licensed HVAC professional to have him come out and do an estimate. I wanted and estimate to see how much it would cost for my air conditioning system to be repaired. I never like to repair my air conditioning system because I have no knowledge on the HVAC industry at all. I had him come out and he did a estimate for me. I made sure to have him write the estimate in writing because the last time that I had an HVAC technician from another HVAC provider come out I did not have my estimate in writing. The HVAC technician told me one thing verbally and then the next day, he came and told me a higher price for it to be fixed. I had no way of proving to him that the lower price that he told me was actually true. Therefore I had to cancel the service immediately because I felt like he was trying to get more money out of me. That is why I tell my friends to make sure that they get their estimates in writing. From that day I always have contractors write their estimates to me in writing so I can always get the price that was offered to me the first time.
