Who would have known that HVAC systems can be so complex.
There are so many parts & nooks & crannies in an HVAC system that neither I or my wife can figure out.
The other day I was household alone seeing our three small children when all of the sudden it seemed like the home was becoming much more colder than normal. I figured that my wife set the temperature down lower to save on utility bills, and however when I walked over to the thermostat that is mounted on the wall near our family room I saw that the temperature was set to what my pal and I normally have it at: 72 degrees; We like to keep our home a bit warmer due to having two smaller children in our home. This week was entirely not the day where our home was nice & warm. It was chilly & the thermostat study 62 degrees. I immediately called my wife at work & told him that the boiler had not kicked on even though it was set to a normal temperature. She told me that this has happened before in our home & it was due to a clogged air filter. I went & opened up the compartment to our HVAC system where our air filter is located, it was clogged. According to my wife, our HVAC system has a sensor that tells the thermostat that something is wrong or clogged & it will automatically stop all messages from the thermostat to the HVAC system. I replaced the air filter & turned our thermostat on, our boiler was functioning normal again.
