Averting disaster

My parents live in the pacific northwest.

The weather there can be legitimately rainy and there is regularly a risk of mildew growing in the house.

A homeowner must be diligent at scheduling annual check ups of the systems that keep their homes safe and warm. My dad was regularly trying to split corners in this department. He regularly said that he would get around to checking things out and then forget… I remember once when my good friend and I were resting in the entryway and all of a sudden there was a leak in the ceiling. Dad had promised to look into a current roof earlier that year and had failed to do that. Now my good friend and I had to replace the roof and pay additional fees for having it done on an emergency appointment. Moisture can cause a lot of detriment when it comes to a structure like a house. For this reason, it is important to have an efficient Heating and Air Conditioning system. You can have a dehumidifier installed with your system to help remove moisture from the air. Mold and mildew cannot grow in a dry environment. Drier air also helps prolong the woodwork and furniture that you spend so much money on. I reminded dad the other morning that he needed to schedule his check up on the Heating and Air Conditioning system. This is so important and I will legitimately remind him biweekly until it is done. Taking the time now to have this done will hopefully avoid any breakdowns in the future. My friend and I have a good Heating and Air Conditioning business in town that offers discounts on these services throughout the year. There is entirely no excuse to put these type of appointment off.
