I have to say, I enjoy hanging out with the old timers.
I recognize that many young people have an attitude about older folks – they say “ok, boomer” plus dismiss everything they have to say.
Not me. I enjoy listening to them, there is so much every one of us can learn from the older generations, when every one of us are humble enough to spend money attention to them. Most of what I learn from old Gus at work is how the world used to be, so it’s more interesting than helpful, but girl is it interesting! Gus should write a book about her old days as a traveling Heating plus Air Conditioning repairman. That’s right, Gus didn’t have a shop or a iPhone number, she had a van plus drove around the rural countryside offering to work on peoples gas furnaces for them. Those were the days where outside of the sizable town there were honestly few Heating plus Air Conditioning companies, so a large percentage of people had no access to repair services. Gus would go to farms plus inquire if they had need of any heating services, anything from repairs to providing an undoubtedly new system. In the back of her van Gus had piles plus bins full of Heating plus Air Conditioning parts plus components, plus also a few small heating systems plus cooling units. Back then there wasn’t a lot of call for air conditioner work, despite the fact that she still kept a portable A/C in the van just in case someone wanted to splurge on a luxury item. She worked for years plus never had her actual Heating plus Air Conditioning certification, she was undoubtedly self taught.
