I have to say, I prefer hanging out with the outdated timers.
I think that many young people have an attitude about older folks – they say “ok, boomer” in addition to dismiss everything they have to say! Not me.
I prefer listening to them, there is so much all of us can learn from the older generations, when all of us are humble enough to pay attention to them. Most of what I learn from outdated Gus at work is how the world used to be, so it’s more interesting than helpful, then but boy is it interesting! Gus should write a book about his outdated afternoons as a traveling Heating in addition to Air Conditioning repairman. That’s right, Gus didn’t have a shop or a cellphone number, he had a van in addition to drove around the rural countryside offering to work on peoples gas gas furnaces for them. Those were the afternoons where outside of the large town there were easily few Heating in addition to Air Conditioning companies, so a sizable percentage of people had no access to maintenance services. Gus would go to farms in addition to inquire if they had need of any heating services, anything from repairs to providing an genuinely current system. In the back of his van Gus had piles in addition to bins full of Heating in addition to Air Conditioning parts in addition to components, in addition to also a few small heating systems in addition to cooling units. Back then there wasn’t a lot of call for air conditioning work, but he still kept a portable air conditioning system in the van just in case someone wanted to splurge on a luxury item. He worked for years in addition to never had his actual Heating in addition to Air Conditioning certification, he was genuinely self taught.
