I stole the HVAC technician’s tools, and I will admit that I felt pretty bad about it.
I have since reconciled with the HVAC technician, but I am sure that it must have been super frustrating to have your tools stolen while working on someone’s HVAC unit. To be honest, the HVAC technician made it way too easy to steal his HVAC tools. Most of the time, HVAC technicians travel to people’s houses with a van, and they store all of the tools that they need to work on HVAC units in the van. Most HVAC technicians will travel to and from their van to grab the stuff that they need. I noticed the HVAC van while I was in a rough place in life, and I needed some money. Sure, I could have gotten a job, but again, I wasn’t thinking clearly. The HVAC technician had left the doors open to the van, and I sat there for a while watching the HVAC van. It occurred to me that the HVAC technician probably was going to leave the doors open for a while, so I began to empty the HVAC van. I took all of the major tools that the HVAC technician would have needed and sold them later. Unfortunately, I don’t think that the HVAC technician was prepared for it. The HVAC technicians that I have heard of have always had to buy their own tools for the HVAC work. I know that I shouldn’t have taken the HVAC tools that the HVAC technician owned, but I regret it now. I apologized to the HVAC technician later and even gave him money for the tools.
