Sometimes, you simply want to help your friend financially, so you give them the money instead of an HVAC technician that you hardly know. While these may seem nice, you still shouldn’t hire your friend to fix your HVAC unit, and here is the reason why. Your friend might have experience fixing a few HVAC units, but the HVAC technicians that you hire have been certified to fix HVAC units and have much more knowledge about your HVAC unit. If your friend can’t figure out what is wrong with your HVAC unit the first time, you might end up spending more money on parts rather than just hiring an HVAC technician. Furthermore, HVAC companies are insured. If an HVAC technician messes something up while fixing your HVAC unit, the HVAC company has insurance that will cover those damages for free. If your friend breaks something while working on your HVAC unit, you are probably going to have to cover the cost of the damage. Please, listen to me. Do not hire your friend to fix your HVAC unit. You should always hire an HVAC technician through an HVAC company.
