Switching To a Smart Thermostat

I finally joined the smart thermostat movement and I have been really excited about it.

Despite my friends and family members raving about their own smart thermostats, I was hesitant to purchase one for my home because of the price.

I could afford one, but the thermostat I already had still worked and it didn’t seem right to replace it. However, the more I heard people talk about the GEO tracking and WIFI capability, the more disappointed I was in my thermostat. Eventually, I grew to resent the fact that my thermostat did nothing other than change the temperature settings and flip between my heat and air. I wanted the extra bells and whistles and I was willing to pay for it. On the day I purchased my smart thermostat, I took it home and installed it right away. I read the manual from cover to cover and tried to learn as much about it as possible. I not only wanted the GEO tracking and WIFI capability, but I wanted to run my HVAC system more efficiently as well. Efficiency was what the smart thermostat was all about. It could sense when you were in and out of the house and it ran the HVAC system accordingly. This meant that my house wouldn’t be heated and cooled while I was away, saving me hundreds of dollars. Now, I’m that person who tells those without a smart thermostat about all the wonderful benefits and convinces them to make the switch themselves!
