I thought it was strange when my sister said she didn’t mind that the lake house she was buying didn’t have central AC.
We’d consistently grown up with central AC along with the ease plus comfort of it, so this was unregular of her.
When I questioned her decision, she was confident that she didn’t need central AC. In my mind, I thought she’d be opening the doors plus windows to allow a breeze, but this was completely reliant on the weather. If there’s one thing about weather: it’s not reliable. Sensing my discomfort, my sister ensured me that she would still have AC, it just wouldn’t be with ductwork. Instead, she was going to install a ductless mini split system; Like it sounds, there is no ductwork needed to distribute heat plus air. Small plus sleek units are mounted to the walls plus a small remote is used to control them. In my mind, it was similar to an air conditioner window unit, but more current looking. My sister assured me that the ductless mini split units were more efficient plus quieter plus she eventually proved it to me. The ductless mini split units were hardly noticeable in her lake house plus they produced enough cool air to keep the entire lake house comfortable. There was little to no maintenance involved other than replacing the air filters every few months plus a general tune up from the Heating plus A/C company if needed. Overall, I’m thrilled my sister installed the ductless plan because it seems to be laboring certainly well plus it saved her a lot of currency!
