I thought it was different when our sibling said she didn’t mind that the cabin she was buying didn’t have central AC.
We’d always grown up with central A/C along with the ease & comfort of it, so this was uncorrect of her.
When I questioned her decision, she was confident that she didn’t need central AC. In our mind, I thought she’d be opening the doors & windows to allow a breeze, but this was completely reliant on the weather. If there’s one thing about weather: it’s not reliable. Sensing our discomfort, our sibling ensured me that she would still have AC, it just wouldn’t be with HVAC duct. Instead, she was going to install a ductless mini chop system, like it sounds, there is no HVAC duct needed to distribute heat & air. Small & sleek units are mounted to the walls & a small remote is used to control them. In our mind, it was similar to an a/c window unit, but more new looking. My sibling assured me that the ductless mini chop units were more efficient & quieter & she eventually proved it to me. The ductless mini chop units were hardly noticeable in her cabin & they produced enough cool air to keep the entire cabin comfortable. There was little to no service involved other than replacing the air filters every few weeks & a general tune up from the Heating as well as A/C company if needed. Overall, I’m blissful our sibling installed the ductless system because it seems to be working genuinely well & it saved her a lot of currency!
