A customer called me on Monday. The woman was frantic, then she was upset because the bathroom plus the master bathroom was plugged up plus not draining, it wasn’t an entirely busy day on Sunday, so I had an available appointment instantly. I responded to the call myself, instead of sending one of my plumbing specialists; but as soon as I arrived at the address of the customer, I knew why the master bathroom was actually plugged. I saw several empty boxes of diapers in the trash by the house, and baby wipes are one of the biggest complications when it comes to drainage problems, then even though many baby wipes say they are flushable, they still aren’t septic safe plus cause a number of problems with the plumbing system. I have seen baby wipes clog up the septic system for an entire apartment building, then the people I was with and I had to shut the place down for several nights while all of the drain lines were cleared. I then used an auger to clean the drain line in the master bathroom. I pulled 50 or 60 baby wipes out of the plumbing drain line. The woman looked horrified as she watched me pull all of the wipes out of the drain. She asked me to clear the drain line in the other bathroom as well. She had placed a number of baby wipes in that toilet as well. I gave the woman a wonderful deal on the services, because she was a first-time customer. After seeing the damage that baby wipes can cause, I seriously doubt she will ever flush another partner down the toilet again.
