I constantly have to work all day on Tuesdays plus Sundays, then i suppose these are the busiest nights of the month at the movie theater.

I’m not surprised that the boss makes us work both of the nights, and everyone that works at the theater is required to work Sundays plus Tuesdays, but last weekend the theater was extremely busy; The last show didn’t end until almost 2 in the afternoon, however after I got done cleaning the theaters, it was 3 a.m. by the time I got home. The first thing I saw was a note on my home door. It was from the service supervisor. The service supervisor wanted me to suppose that the A/C was not working properly but that they would repair the problem the next day. I was very uneasy plus miserable when I saw the note on the door. I didn’t suppose anything about the A/C repair plus no a single contacted me. I wondered how they found out about the problem in the first place, because I had been at work all day plus I live by myself. I could not sleep much at all, because there was no cool air in the house. The next afternoon I woke up plus contacted the manager; She told me that the issue with the A/C was in the pole building plus promised that they would repair the problem that day or she would pay for me to spend the evening at a hotel. I agreed to supply them some time to repair the problem when she made that deal.

When you live out in the boondocks, you have to get smart about stocking up on essential supplies.

You can’t afford to forget important items at the grocery store if you’re only able to go once a week at best. The closest stores to my house are over 30 minutes away in either direction, so keeping lists of what I need is tantamount to avoiding shortage problems. You don’t want to run out of things like toilet paper and cleaning supplies when you need them the most. My only solution to avoid these problems is by creating extremely detailed lists and charts for all of the items I purchase and use from nearby stores on a regular basis. That way I know when I’m out of coffee or water if I’m just heading to the store for a box of garbage bags or aluminum foil. Aside from being so far away from important stores, I’m also severely limited on professional services living in this area. I was really sad to learn that there are really only two plumbing services that will drive this far out to do basic repairs, installations, or maintenance. When I went online to look at customer reviews, I was relieved to learn that the closest of the two plumbing services near me had wonderful reviews going back over 10 years on various review websites. The plumber who arrived for hot water heater service and maintenance was both knowledgeable and friendly. The cost of plumbing service was both fair and affordable. Even though there is one other plumbing company to choose from, I feel like I made the right decision.

Last summer my sister and I decided to take a trip to the beach. We left our children with our husbands and drove overnight to the beach. When we got to our condo, we turned on the air conditioning and went straight to the beach to get some sun. We were so tired from the drive that we fell asleep and ended up getting a lot of sun. When we woke up we couldn’t think of anything other than getting back to the condo so we could cool off. We stepped inside and were immediately met with some extreme heat. The air conditioning was on, but it was not working. Instead, it was making a grinding sound and the air coming out of it was almost hot. We called the Condo owner and they said they would send an HVAC technician to work on the unit. They arrived later that day and were dripping in sweat themselves by the time they found the problem. It turns out a piece of the fan had gotten lodged in the system and it wasn’t able to blow cool air as it should. The HVAC expert was able to make the repairs on the spot and even spend a little while with us to make sure it was blowing cool air. We offered him some lemonade and encouraged him to get cooled off before he left. We could have had a beach trip gone bad but instead, we were able to enjoy our time and eventually go completely cooled off. We still had sunburns but they were more tolerable in the cool air.

One time my cousins and I took a short road trip to a local lodge.

• We had planned on spending some time fishing and were looking forward to the comforts of the lodge.

We used to spend a lot of time outdoors as children so we try to get together every summer for a weekend of fun. We have grown up a lot since our days of camping in the backyard, and we enjoy the luxuries of the lodge. When we arrived at the lodge, we realized it was very hot inside. We assume the air conditioning unit just hadn’t been on very long and didn’t think much of it. We dropped our bags and grabbed out poles. We headed right down to the lake to fish. We didn’t have any luck but we still had fun. We were tired and looking forward to cooling off from the summer heat when we got back to the lodge. As soon as we stepped inside we knew something was wrong. It was intensely hot and even though the air unit had been running for hours and it had not cooled down. We called the HVAC technicians and they promised to be out first thing in the morning for repairs. We couldn’t handle the heat and decided to camp out in the backyard of the lodge instead. We laughed about our situation but the next day the HVAC technician was there and the system was repaired. We didn’t have to spend the entire trip outside camping like kids, but we still had a great time together.

I love homes that have floor to ceiling windows. I think it makes a place look so bright, open and airy. The house looks bigger. I have a wild idea of making my living room windows all floor to ceiling. You would get the full view of the backyard and the pool. I would add a window tint to still keep our privacy. I think it would make the house look great. I have talked to a contractor about it and he is game to do the job. The only snag is that my HVAC system is hooked to that wall. I have a heat pump system and the outdoor air compressor is where I would like to expand my window. The contractor is very hesitant to touch the heating and cooling system. He doesn’t want to move it. He is highly advocating calling a HVAC business about it. I did some googling online and I found that a HVAC unit can quite easily be moved. The price tag is around 1,000 to move it. You want to hire a professional since you are dealing with things like electric and plumbing. The HVAC system can easily be harmed in transport. Also, the system needs to be hooked up again once it is moved. They recommend a skilled professional doing this process. It is easy to not hook up a unit correctly and have water draining where it shouldn’t. I hate to take out so much money to move a HVAC unit, but I think I have to.

My goal for the turn of the new year is to gut and redo my kitchen.

• I have the money, I have been saving it.

I want to get gray tile floors, expand my kitchen window, white shaker cabinets, navy blue quartz countertops and all new appliances. I am even shifting my appliances and making the layout better. It is going to be quite an undertaking. I have decided to choose lower quality products to hire out the work. Rather than mess around tiling, assembling and installing, I will just hire professionals to do it. I don’t want the job done poorly and to take forever. One thing I want to add is heated flooring in the kitchen. I read about the process online. You can buy electric heated mats from the hardware store and install them yourself. It is pretty simple, they go on top of the cement board and before the tile. I watched tons of videos and I am confident that I can do it. I don’t want to do it and to take the time. I called up my local HVAC company and they have the mats and can do the job in like an hour. I would take weeks to do that project and worry about failing the whole time. It is worth it to me to check one item off my list. Having a quality heating system and good installation is more than worth the money to me. I am hopeful that with quality work the heating system will last almost 15 years.
