It’s amazing how hot it was just a few months ago, and how that hot turned to very cold so quickly is just as amazing.
Today was so cold when I woke up and went out on my balcony this morning long before sunrise.
I live close to the mediterranean Sea, and you think it wouldn’t get that cold in a semi tropical feeling place like this. But my oh my how things can change in the matter of a couple months. It was still very hot here in late October, and then in early December it was below freezing. The central air conditioner that nature has at its disposal is quite incredible indeed. Imagine the amount of energy it takes to bring the earth from being upwards of 95F to 35F in just under 60 days, that’s quite intense. And in the summer she has a furnace that can do the opposite to the temperature when taking us from winter to summer. It doesn’t always take three months for it to get hot when it’s winter, sometimes winter goes on late and summer kicks in early and it all happens in a matter of weeks. Maybe if we went to the South Pole there is a huge space heater that is waiting to be turned on in the summer and in the North Pole there is a huge air conditioner waiting to be turned on in the winter. I’m just thinking out loud here, maybe not so realistic, but it’s fun to imagine! Maybe the ductwork is way up in the sky?
