If there is one thing I have learned from buying a house, it is that you should always check the condition of the heating and air conditioning unit.
When I was first looking into buying my current house, I briefly looked and noticed the home did have working heating and air conditioning, but that’s about all I did.
What I should have done is have a heating and air conditioning specialist come out and look at the HVAC machine, to ensure it is actually working and in proper condition, not barely working condition. Because while the A/C device did work in my home, it was in such awful condition it wasn’t even worth saving when it finally broke down. I had only lived in my house for 6 months when it finally broke, and before then it was barely satisfying my needs for heating and cooling to begin with. It was a huge mistake not looking into the heater and air conditioner, because now I was the one who had to pay out of pocket for a brand new furnace and A/C system. Although I don’t plan on moving anytime soon, I know now what to look for, next time I do start looking at houses again. I suggest if you plan on buying a home in the near future, you do the same thing, otherwise you might end up in my situation. At least it all worked out in the end, I did manage to get an up to date much better HVAC system overall, and now my house is nice and cozy.
