The people I was with and I know largely fortunate that neither of us lost our jobs while in the pandemic, but we’re making a little bit less in an economy that is in full gear with the highest inflation numbers in 40 years.
One thing we do once a week is kneel down and look at the sale papers for all of the local grocery stores so we can plan our purchases based on promotions and coupons. This makes a immense difference to our lives, giving us a lot more money to stretch each week. Why spend twice as much for the same product by getting all of your purchases in 1 single store? The people I was with and I will shop at more than two or more than three at a time and find the sites that have the lowest prices for every single grocery item or piece of food that we need. After doing this so long with our shopping lists, we started applying it to other areas of our lives. I managed to get a lower iPhone bill after taking an offer from a rival iPhone supplier who agreed to better bi-weekly rates with unlimited data as well. Now that we’re going to need a current cooling system soon, we’re saving for a plan with a higher SEER rating but we want to get the best deal at the same time. That means being patient and watching the prices at all of the local Heating plus A/C businesss on a week to week basis while our savings account slowly accumulates more money. We’re not going to waste our hard- gained money on a poorly performing Heating plus A/C system.
