After my dad said he wanted to get his own house, not far from us, we suddenly had an extra room in the house.
Dad had come to live with my family and I a few years ago after a health scare.
He was getting older, and his health wasn’t the best since he wasn’t taking good care of himself. Since he and mom are divorced, she wasn’t there to take care of him when he wasn’t feeling well. I went to him and demanded he move in with my family since I knew asking nicely wasn’t going to work. Well, we opted to sell the house since it was too far away, and he’d get a new one closer to us when he was better. That happened in 2021, when we saw this amazing house about 6 doors down from us on sale. So, now that dad was living in his own house, I opted to turn his old bedroom into an office. Apart from adding furniture, I also got a space heater to use during winter. Dad always said the room was a little colder than the rest of the house, and now I knew he was telling the truth. We had bought him a space heater when he was living with us, but he took it with him when he moved into his new house. Now, I had to go online and order a new space heater to use during winter when I work in my new office. It’s great because I no longer have to work in the kitchen when I am working from home.
