I had to attend the HVAC booth.

I hated job fairs.

People were milling around, and most of them could care less about getting a job.

It was part of their job to go to job fairs and look like they were looking for a job. You could always tell those who wanted a career, and the career unemployment chasers. The worst of the worst job fairs were those they had in high schools. Kids were always milling around, and there was a lot of horsing around. It was a way to get out of a couple of classes. Some of the guys would stop by and ask questions, but I would see them writing in their notebooks. Once again, it was their job to ask questions and take down information. I wondered why no one took HVAC seriously enough to stop and ask questions and really want to know how to become an HVAC technician. Then I remember what it was like when I was in high school and had to attend a job fair. I already knew I was going to be an HVAC technician. My father told me I was going to be an HVAC technician. He very politely told me I was going to go to school and be an HVAC technician. I would then work in my uncle’s HVAC company. I had no choice. I had no choice but to be working at the job fair and hating being here. My uncle told me I had to represent the HVAC company and that is what I was doing. He didn’t need to know I was also putting an application in to another HVAC company while there. I hated working for my uncle.
