I am going to ground myself at home for the next two and a half hours.
Now there is a word I haven’t heard in a while; grounded. I still remember my parents saying “you’re grounded”, which was a bad thing back then. But now if I say I am grounded it is a good thing, funny! So anyway, I am grounding myself for the next couple of hours and not allowing myself to go out in the blistering sun till it backs off a bit and sinks lower in the sky. It is way too hot out and air conditioning is spoiling me in the flat, so I will just wait a couple of hours till things cool down outside before allowing myself to go out there again. I think by 5pm the sun is less intense and I can go out to the beach without risking getting sunburned for the umpteenth time. My heating supplier friend told me to stay out of the summer sun from 10am till 5pm if possible, and so that is what I am going to do while I enjoy some nice climate control in my office and my flat. We are both home right now, my roommate being on one side of the flat while I am in my office on the other side. I like this split plan we have and the HVAC system that they put in because it gives us space in here while keeping us both comfortable during really hot days like this. I think I will take a short nap now.
