A lot of grass getting stuck into the air conditioning unit outside

During the summer I like to do lot of activities outside.

Whether it is hiking or taking my dog for a walk I try to make sure that every day during the summer I am doing something active.

Not to mention, when I’m outside I get a good tan. Around my house I make sure that it is neat and tidy and my plants and garden are ready to take on the hot summer heat. I always like to make sure my flowerbeds and gardens are watered and the weeds taken out. Our neighborhood is part of a “make your home presentable” campaign. Every summer our neighborhood votes on the most presentable house. This year I would like to win so I have been maintaining my yard as much as possible. Every week I weedwack and mow my lawn. One week when I mowed my lawn there were grass clippings all in my air conditioning unit. I immediately stopped my lawn mower, grabbed my hose and sprayed down the unit. My local HVAC technician told me that it is not good to have grass clippings or any other debris in the unit because it prevents the most ultimate airflow that cools a house. Also it can slightly cause future breakdowns of the air conditioning unit. Everytime that I mow my lawn I make sure that I take a look at the air conditioning unit to see if there is any grass clippings in the blades. I want my air conditioning unit to be in tip top shape so I can stay cool during the summer.
