Our child plus his spouse just closed on their first home.
Now, the fun part begins.
There will be a long list of things to be done, some right away, some down the line. The condo has an condo that can be rented out so one of the first things they want to do is paint up there plus make sure that everything is ready for tenants. As part of their income will depend on having that space occupied, then fortunately for them, both my spouse plus myself have been through this before. Our own household needed significant remodeling with my great friend and I first bought it as well. They are really sad about the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C system in particular. It is older plus there are two separate systems. One for their living space plus one for the apartment. The previous owners did little to upkeep the space let alone maintain usual tune ups of the system. The ductwork has not been cleaned in years so this will be a number one priority. My job, before I go over is to contact a list of Heating, Ventilation plus A/C dealers to see how much it will cost to have the cleaning done plus the units looked at. There is constantly a service call friendd with these inspections so I want them to get the best deals possible, and once I have the list compiled, they can decide who they want to go with. We want them to be as in control of all the fluctuations as possible however also be here to help when needed. I just know that having reliable heat that is wash plus efficient is a number one priority at this point.
