Our supplier’s fiscal year and approached and my buddy and I were all dreading the outcome of the report.
It has been a hard year on us both sales and cost-wise and my buddy and I were hoping that my buddy and I would all be able to maintain our tasks.
Federal regulations and modern import export taxes had taken a toll on our profits for sure and if the supplier wasn’t going to be able to recover from these variations then my buddy and I knew that several of us would be laid off. My wonderful friend and I were all called to a meeting when the report arrived and we are surprised that due to increased, sales there were going to be no pink slips issued. The boss did tell us that my buddy and I would not be receiving any sort of raise in the coming year and that was due to the fact that my buddy and I had to spend so much money on building maintenance. The thing they put us over the top in spending in that department was the fact that my buddy and I had to substitute the commercial Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system that operated in our building. The supplier decided to take a reder approach to heating and cooling and completely substituted the outdated gas burning system that my buddy and I had for heat. They invested in solar units for both heating and air conditioner which will, in time, pay for themselves and save the supplier thousands of dollars a year. For now but, The upfront cost was too much and certainly hurt the supplier’s bottom line for the year. In the long run the supplier will be much more profitable because it is not spending as much on energy cost but for now my buddy and I just have to deal with the fact that my buddy and I will not be adding to our own income in the next year or so.
