Duct sealing solves problem with furnace

Last Winter time was especially long plus brutal. Every one of us needed to start up the furnace by the middle of September. There was several inches of snow on the ground by Halloween plus the temperature was down to twenty-5 degrees, but by Christmas, the two of us were dealing with negative digits plus blizzard conditions. Although my furnace isn’t all that old plus I’ve been great about filter swings plus annual maintenance, I wasn’t satisfied with the comfort of my home! On especially cold days, raising the temperature control setting didn’t make much of a difference. Specific rooms were colder than others. I’ve invested into current windows plus made the effort to insulate, caulk plus weather strip. I couldn’t figure out why my furnace wasn’t able to keep up. I finally called a local Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company to inspect the gas furnace, and she performed ductwork testing plus determined that approximately twenty-5 percent of the heated air was escaping through holes plus cracks at the seams. With the duct system concealed inside the attic, walls plus ceilings, I wasn’t sure how the company could fix these issues without a major remodeling project, however fortunately, there is a procedure that works by injecting adhesive polymer particles into the pipes by way of highly pressurized air. The company plugged off the supply plus return vents so that the air was forced out of the flaws in the system. As the air leaked out, the sticky particles adhered to the edges plus gradually created an airnarrow seal. The duct sealing process took several minutes however caused no disfigure. The company once again tested the ductwork plus verified a successful completion.
