A dead rodent in the air ducts almost ruined my date

She had accepted an invitation for dinner at my house, and it was my chance to impress her with my cooking skills.

I am a chef by profession, but I rarely have the opportunity to make a meal for someone special.

I do not cook in my own house most of the time because I have my meals at the restaurant. She was someone I was hoping to build a future with, and so I went all out with the meal. That day I even passed by the local business to pick an air purifier I had ordered the previous day. The heat pump’s air purification system cared for the indoor air quality, but I still felt the need to ensure that all was perfect. The same day I made the order, a professional came in for maintenance and duct cleaning. The cleaning was because there was a foul smell coming from the air ducts, which I highly suspect was a dead rodent, and duct sealing to eliminate such an occurrence in the future. It also necessitated an air quality systems unit to rid the house of the smell because I did not think that the heat and AC products would get rid of the odor when my guest arrived. I had also replaced the air filter with a new washable filter which I found more economically favorable. With the ductwork rid of vermin and the thermostat reset to achieve the best when it came to indoor comfort, I could comfortably cook for my date and give it my best. Since it was an early dinner, by six o’clock, she had arrived, and we enjoyed our meal. I didn’t come home to an empty and cold home a year later.
