If I don’t write it down, it’s almost as though it isn’t real.
That’s just totally insane isn’t it.
But without my lists, I’d be lost. It’s funny that I’m now completely out of sorts without my lists of things to do. When I was in my 20’s, I gave my dad a really hard time for the lists he always kept in his front shirt pocket. He’d be kicked back in his recliner soaking up some HVAC cooling when mom would ask him if he had done a particular thing. And dad would pull out his list to see if that was something that got checked off. If it wasn’t, then that was the end of lounging in the air conditioning and he’d finish that task. Well, I’m now in that sort of spot where if it’s not on my list, then I’m not going to remember to get it done. I noticed the need for lists just a few years ago. The HVAC air filter was always getting forgotten. I’d go a couple of months or more and forget to change out the air filter for the HVAC equipment. And that’s not a good thing to forget. A clogged and dirty air filter only forces the HVAC unit to work that much harder. And that’s just money wasted really. So I started out with a monthly to do list that I kept on the fridge. Sure enough, I started changing the air filter every month without fail and even calling promptly for HVAC maintenance as well. But that one list on the fridge is now a small notebook that I have to carry with me everywhere I go.
