The run was difficult, but the AC was great

Approximately a year ago, my partner and I learned that our city was hosting a marathon. Initially, we discussed how difficult it would be to run that far all at once, however, the more we talked about it, the more we realized that we wanted to challenge ourselves and give it a try. In preparing for the race, we established a program that would prepare us for the distance and endurance required. After months of preparation, this past weekend marked the day of the marathon. It is still Spring, so the weather on the day of the race was unseasonably mild. Both of us kept our paces throughout the race. By the end of the run, both of us were sunburned and hot. When we returned home, we relaxed on the couch. For the first time since last summer, we turned on our air conditioning system and let it operate. After such a dreary day, I was grateful for the air conditioning. As we just had the a/c diagnosed a few weeks prior, we had no problems running it for the first time that summer. While the air conditioning was running, we watched movies and ate pizza for the remainder of the day. Although I enjoyed running in the marathon, I believe that I only need to run it once. I had more fun cooling down after the race than I did running it.
