Balancing Air Duct Supply and Return

Because the air volume in the office was greater, there was an air pressure balance

I don’t mind my task. Many people loathe waking up in the day and going to work. But I don’t mind waking up and facing the same schedule that I do every week. My schedule consists of: wake up, eat, go to work, drive home, eat, go to bed and do the same thing over and over. However I have the type of task where every afternoon there is something new waiting for me. However these past few weeks have been a little freezing when I get to my office. My office and my coworker’s office that is right next to mine are the coldest one’s in the building. It’s a little odd. This occurred for about a week until I decided to call the repair guy to see if he could determine the problem. Unfortunately he couldn’t so he called an Heating and A/C professional. The Heating and A/C professional found that the reason for the two freezing offices was due to an imbalance of air flow. The air volume that the Heating and A/C system runs from the office did not equal the air volume that supplies to it. Because the air volume in the office was greater, there was an air pressure balance. This explained the reason for the giant freezing drafts in both offices. After the professional fixed the problem, my coworker and I didn’t have to bring our sweaters anymore. Now I looked more forward to going to work; Even though I do face a unusual variety of toil every afternoon, I won’t have to experience a frigid one.

Energy Audits

My Grandma called me the other afternoon unsure of how to toil his new laptop.

My aunt’s bought his an laptop for his birthday last week.

They showed his how to use it although he ultimately forgot. Since it was the weekday and all of my aunt’s were at work, I went over after my classes. She was so glad to see me. I showed his the steps on how to affix to the internet and where to search for things. I also showed his how to download apps if he wanted them. She asked me if I had to leave soon. I told his I wasn’t in a rush and could stay until breakfast time. She mentioned that he had his Heating and A/C professional coming to the home to look over his system because it needed replacing. I told his I could stay and explain to his what he was doing, when he arrived, he told my Grandma that he had to do an energy audit, good thing I was there because he didn’t know what that meant. I explained to his than an energy audit is an inspection that determines the size and type of Heating and A/C system that he needs. An audit allows the professional to determine if there’s any leakage in the HVAC duct, pressure imbalances caused by the HVAC duct, any air leakage, unacceptable insulation and if there’s a radiant barrier that can help get rid of cooling requirements in warmer weather. These factors helped in the process of choosing the right Heating and A/C system. I was glad to have helped my Grandma that afternoon.

Changing Air Filters

I had the option to rent a towncondo or rent a condo for my last year of school.

I chose to rent a towncondo because my electricity, heating, cooling & water was all included with my room & board.

I didn’t want to have the responsibility of finding an electrical business or HVAC business & pay them each month. I would rather just pay one lump sum at the end of the year… Plus I won’t have to worry about paying late fees if I forget to pay my bills. The towncondo that I live in now with my roommates is great. My associate and I have a fantastic size kitchen & a residing room. Our bathroom is pretty nice too. However my associate and I have been seeing these little balls of lint on our bathroom sink. It got worse as my associate and I let it continue. My associate and I decided to call the repair people to solve the issue. She diagnosed our vents & looked at the vent return & saw the lint & dust on it. She took off the return face, & opened it up. Inside was where the air filter was located. She took out the air filter & it was filled with dust & other particles. That was the main reason why my associate and I kept seeing dust & lint, our air filter needed to be changed. Who knew when the last time it was changed. She apologized & cleaned the rest of our vents by dusting them & wiping them down. If my roommates & I were renting a condo my associate and I would have had to pay for an HVAC serviceman to repair our problem.

Refrigerants Can Deplete The Ozone Layer

Since my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider is pushing to be more environmentally friendly, they are eliminating the use of R-22 and moving to an alternative

There has been a lot of controversy lately on global warming, then depending on where you sit on the subject, it is a extreme topic that needs to be tackled in some way. It’s silly to think that in colder temperatures, my buddy and I are seeing the depletion of ice and loss of pets due to the temperature change. Climate change results in a lot of factors. Some say as humans my buddy and I are the main reason to why our Earth is changing. Others know it’s just Earth going through a cyclic change. Whatever the reason is, as humans my buddy and I can help our environment. Some ways that my buddy and I can do this is by recycling paper, glass, plastic and can bottles. What I recently found out by my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider is that as a company they’re trying to eliminate harm to the environment. According to my worker, there is a refrigerant in Heating, Ventilation, and A/C units called Refrigerant 22 (R-22), it is one of the most common refrigerants that are used. This type of refrigerant is said to be responsible for damaging the Earth’s ozone layer. It is used in not just refrigerants but in a variety of odd forms such as: refrigeration, aerosol propellants and cleaning solvents. Since my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider is pushing to be more environmentally friendly, they are eliminating the use of R-22 and moving to an alternative. A lot of Heating, Ventilation, and A/C companies have been getting rid of this refrigerant due to its damaging properties. I am really pleased with the awareness of my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider and the actions that other companies are taking to get rid of this pollutant.

Fall Furnace Inspection

Fall is finally here and it’s my favorite time of the year.

I cherish to go peach picking with my friends and to the pumpkin patch.

It doesn’t matter how outdated I get, I will regularly do these fall activities. With the peachs that I pick, I like to make peach pie and have it with vanilla ice cream. With the pumpkin that I opening out, I like to carve it into cool designs and locale it on my deck. Fall is also such a lovely time. The fall foliage this year was much better than last year because my buddy and I didn’t receive a lot of rain that would make the leaves fall off faster. Besides fall festivities, I regularly prepare my heater before colder weather hits. I do this by setting up an appointment with Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider. When my worker gets to my household he cleans and inspects my heater and air ducts for any leakage. He will also remind me to get extra air filters so I won’t forget to replace them. This season he commanded a carbon monoxide detector near my heater. This is what he has been doing in a lot of his other customer’s homes to ensure their safety and protection. I agreed in letting him install one. I would never want a carbon monoxide leak in my home. He also checked my tepid water radiator. He checked this by bleeding the valves and opening them slightly and once he saw water, he would close them. Make sure you get your heater checked before winter hits.

Leaky Ductworks

I have been working on my household all summer time to get rid of things.

I have boxes full of junk that I don’t necessarily need.

I devoted one weekend of just going through those boxes and cleaning out my basement. I had things that were from when I graduated high school. One box had outdated binders filled with schoolwork. I wasn’t sure why I kept it all despite the fact that I went through it just to make sure I didn’t throw away any awards or high Springtime semesterbooks. Good thing I did go through that box because I had all of my high Springtime semesterbooks in it. I went through one year book and looked back at my outdated classmates and teams that I played on. It was strenuous to imagine that it was almost ten years ago. Time sure does fly by! As I was going through the yearbook I felt a draft coming from the ceiling. It was originating from the air duct. I got a small step ladder, climbed up and put my hand near the two air duct pieces that joined together. The chilly air was leaking from them. I immediately called my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider. The worker showed up and confirmed that the supply ducts were in fact leaking chilly air… He said it was smart that I called him because I would have continued to lose money from my a/c component running more than it should have. He repaired the leakage by using duct mastic. The air duct was back to normal and not losing any more chilly air.

Programmable Thermostats

My best neighbor and I regularly have a great time when we’re together! My pal and I have been friends since my buddy and I were in the third grade; Now that we’re in our twenties it’s safe to say that my buddy and I will be friends for life, and as regularly, best friends have their disagreements, but with those little fights, my buddy and I haven’t let that interfere with our friendship.

She’s been by my side through some rough times in my life and I’ve done the same for her; I’ve been helping her find a household to rent while she goes back to get her Master’s degree.

Some of the houses we’ve seen have been treacherous and genuinely nice, however of course the genuinely nice houses are too much money and out of her budget. After a month, she finally made a choice of choosing a household to rent… Unluckyly some of the items in her household are outdated. One of them being her temperature control. By looking at her temperature control it’s not a programmable one. She was a little sad by that because she’ll have to manually turn the dial before she goes to bed, when she wakes up, and when she leaves her house. I mentioned to her to ask her landlord if she could call an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker to install one. My neighbor got ahold of her landlord and he agreed, and the worker told her that she made the right transport in updating her temperature control because an replace helps maintain the system’s workload, saves money and limits the amount of times you have to adjust the home’s temperature.
