Cooling and Heating Load Reduction

I remember back in highuniversity taking American history.

History was my favorite subject in university and I didn’t mind it.

I consistently got “A’s” in that class and I thoroughly enjoyed the way my professor taught. I remember one particular topic was a lesson on work laws. A lot of workers in the early 1920s faced long hours, and exhausting working conditions. I could never imagine working in a factory for long hours in unquestionably boiling or unquestionably freezing conditions and getting paid unquestionably minimal. At toil the other afternoon my buddy and I had a professional come to repair the Heating and A/C system. Supposively it broke down. It was in the middle of the summer time and every one in the office was dripping with sweat. It reminded me of the work lesson I learned in high university, as I was feeling unquestionably boiling and uncomfortable. The professional finally fixed the problem and my buddy and I were all back to feeling comfortable again. The next afternoon I showed up to toil and saw contractors working all over the office. According to the professional that showed up last week he told the owner load reducing options so the Heating and A/C system doesn’t have to consistently running. Some suggestions to the owner were reducing solar gain. Contractors were placing window tints on particular windows that receive a lot of sunlight. This was to keep unnecessary heat out. The contractors were also installing energy efficient lighting because the old lighting fixtures were outdated and also letting off unnecessary heat. I feel working in a safe energy efficient and comfortable toil environment is pressing.

Building a home from scratch is a long process.

There are so much to choose from and so many decisions to make when developing a home into a home… From pouring the foundation to putting up the wood that ultimately designs the house, it is one of the few steps where you can visually see a home coming together.

Once the home is up with drywall, doors, windows and a roof it becomes more fun for me. I like to choice out the paint colors, appliances and new decor. I will let the contractors do the electrical and Heating and A/C work. The electrician came the other afternoon to complete the electrical work. That is all done and now there’s electricity in our home. The Heating and A/C professional came to my home this week to discuss heating and cooling options. He brought up HVAC duct and showed me pictures of other houses with unusual types of HVAC duct. I didn’t realize that there were other materials that were used to supply and return boiling and freezing air. Some materials that I saw were building cavities that were made out of wood and wallboard inner surfaces that supply unquestionably little leakage. Another material was adjustable non-metallic ducts. These ducts are adjustable and are mainly installed in attics or slender sites. One of the options that my buddy and I were interested in was the HVAC duct made out of sheet metal that is made out of galvanized steel. This type of HVAC duct can sometimes leak where sections can join. The other choice my buddy and I saw was fiberglass duct board that is used to feed smaller ducts.

Leaky Ductworks

I have been working on my home all summer time to get rid of things.

I have boxes full of junk that I don’t necessarily need.

I devoted one weekend of just going through those boxes and cleaning out my basement. I had things that were from when I graduated high university. One box had old binders filled with universitywork. I wasn’t sure why I kept it all although I went through it just to make sure I didn’t throw away any awards or high university yearbooks. Good thing I did go through that box because I had all of my high university yearbooks in it. I went through one year book and looked back at my old classmates and teams that I played on. It was hard to imagine that it was almost ten years ago. Time sure does fly by! As I was going through the yearbook I felt a draft coming from the ceiling. It was originating from the HVAC duct. I got a small step ladder, climbed up and put my hand near the two HVAC duct pieces that joined together. The freezing air was leaking from them. I right away called my Heating and A/C provider. The professional showed up and confirmed that the supply ducts were in fact leaking freezing air, then he said it was smart that I called him because I would have continued to lose currency from my air conditioner component running more than it should have. He repaired the leakage by using duct mastic. The HVAC duct was back to normal and not losing any more freezing air.

Fall Furnace Inspection

Fall is finally here & it’s my favorite time of the year.

I cherish to go apple picking with my friends & to the pumpkin patch.

It doesn’t matter how old I get, I will constantly do these fall activities. With the apples that I pick, I like to make apple pie & have it with vanilla ice cream. With the pumpkin that I pick out, I like to carve it into cool designs & locale it on my deck. Fall is also such a elegant time. The fall foliage this year was much better than last year because my associate and I didn’t receive a lot of rain that would make the leaves fall off faster. Besides fall festivities, I constantly prepare my boiler before colder weather hits. I do this by setting up an appointment with HVAC provider. When my serviceman gets to my condo she cleans & inspects my boiler & air ducts for any leakage. She will also remind me to get extra air filters so I won’t forget to update them. This season she advised a carbon monoxide detector near my boiler. This is what she has been doing in a lot of her other customer’s homes to ensure their safety & protection. I agreed in letting him install one. I would never want a carbon monoxide leak in my home. She also diagnosed my tepid water radiator. She diagnosed this by bleeding the valves & opening them slightly & once she saw water, she would close them. Make sure you get your boiler diagnosed before winter season hits.

Balancing Air Duct Supply and Return

I don’t mind my job. Many people loathe waking up in the morning and going to work. But I don’t mind waking up and facing the same schedule that I do every week. My schedule consists of: wake up, eat, go to work, drive home, eat, go to bed and do the same thing over and over. However I have the type of job where every day there is something new waiting for me. However these past few weeks have been a little chilly when I get to my office. My office and my coworker’s office that is right next to mine are the coldest one’s in the building. It’s a little odd. This occurred for about a week until I decided to call the repair person to see if he could determine the problem. Unluckyly he couldn’t so he called an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker found that the reason for the two chilly offices was due to an imbalance of air flow. The air volume that the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system runs from the office did not equal the air volume that supplies to it. Because the air volume in the office was greater, there was an air pressure balance. This explained the reason for the sizable chilly drafts in both offices. After the worker fixed the problem, my coworker and I didn’t have to bring our jackets anymore. Now I looked more forward to going to work, then even though I do face a odd variety of labor every day, I won’t have to experience a chilly one.

Changing Air Filters

I had the choice to rent a townhome or rent a home for my last year of college.

I chose to rent a townhome because my electricity, heating, cooling as well as water was all included with my room as well as board.

I didn’t want to have the responsibility of finding an electrical supplier or Heating as well as Air Conditioning supplier as well as spend money them each month. I would rather just spend money one lump sum at the end of the year, and plus I won’t have to worry about paying late fees if I forget to spend money my bills. The townhome that I live in now with my roommates is great. My friend and I have a superb size family room as well as a living room. Our lavatory is pretty nice too. However we have been seeing these little balls of lint on our lavatory sink. It got worse as we let it continue. My friend and I decided to call the maintenance people to solve the issue. He checked our vents as well as looked at the vent return as well as saw the lint as well as dust on it. He took off the return face, as well as opened it up. Inside was where the air filter was situated. He took out the air filter as well as it was filled with dust as well as other particles. That was the main reason why we kept seeing dust as well as lint, our air filter needed to be changed. Who knew when the last time it was changed. He apologized as well as cleaned the rest of our vents by dusting them as well as wiping them down. If my roommates as well as I were renting a home we would have had to spend money for an Heating as well as Air Conditioning professional to fix our problem.

Energy Audits

My Grandma called me the other morning unsure of how to labor her new laptop.

My aunt’s obtained her an laptop for her birthday last week. They showed her how to use it but she ultimately forgot. Since it was the weekday as well as all of my aunt’s were at work, I went over after my classes. She was so cheerful to see me. I showed her the steps on how to connect to the internet as well as where to search for things. I also showed her how to download apps if she wanted them. She asked me if I had to leave soon. I told her I wasn’t in a rush as well as could stay until dinner time. She mentioned that she had her Heating as well as Air Conditioning professional coming to the home to look over her system because it needed replacing. I told her I could stay as well as explain to her what he was doing, then when he arrived, he told my Grandma that he had to do an energy audit… Good thing I was there because she didn’t know what that meant. I explained to her than an energy audit is an inspection that determines the size as well as type of Heating as well as Air Conditioning system that she needs. An audit allows the professional to determine if there’s any leakage in the air duct, pressure imbalances caused by the air duct, any air leakage, inadequate insulation as well as if there’s a radiant barrier that can help get rid of cooling requirements in warmer weather. These factors helped in the process of choosing the right Heating as well as Air Conditioning system. I was cheerful to have helped my Grandma that morning.
